Liaison Reporting 

APMSA Liaisons, per Section 8.7 of APMSA's Bylaws, must: 

  • Represent the association for the mutual benefit of enhancing communications and understanding between students and the liaison organization.
  • Educate the association on how the liaison organization’s function impacts students or the profession.
  • Effectively communicate the association’s positions to the liaison organization as established by the House of Delegates or Board of Trustees.
  • Perform such duties as assigned by the liaison organization. 
  • Report annually to, or when called upon by, the House of Delegates. 
  • Report when called upon by the Board of Trustees or Executive Director.
  • While acting as a representative of the association, an individual shall not express their personal opinion that is in conflict with the position of the association.
  • Perform such other duties as assigned by the Board of Trustees or House of Delegates, as provided in the bylaws or procedures of the association. 

All APMSA Liaisons are expected to: 

  • Send all your organization meeting dates for the year to APMSA staff by April 25, 2025. Submit below. If you do not know the dates yet, you may state so. 
  • Collaborate with APMSA staff on the preparation of written or oral reports to the organization prior to any meetings. APMSA reports must be discussed with and approved by APMSA’s Executive Director before being presented.
  • Communicate all time sensitive information/alerts/updates to APMSA staff promptly as received throughout the year.
  • Communicate only the association’s official positions, and refrain from expressing personal sentiments that may be portrayed as the association’s.
  • Submit a written report following each meeting of the organization to APMSA staff within 7 days of the close of the meeting. The report template and submission information is available below. 
  • Submit quarterly reports of your activities to the Board of Trustees by June 1, October 1, January 1, and April 1. 
  • Report annually to the House of Delegates.
  • Mandatory attendance at the organization’s meetings as an APMSA representative.
  • Complete any other duties requested of the liaison organization and approved by APMSA staff.
Remember, if you do not know an answer to a question, it’s okay to state so and tell the organization that you will get back to them.
