APMSA Board Examination Grants

Guidelines and Selection Criteria

APMSA Board Examination Grants help offset the cost of APMLE Board examinations for APMSA student members. The goal of the program is to reduce financial barriers associated with board testing and support students as they progress through podiatric medical education.

Funding for the Podiatric Medical Student Travel Grant is split into two pools.

APMLE PART I APPLICATION:
  • Applications will be open until April 1, 2026.
  • Recipients will be announced in May/June 2026.

APMLE PART II APPLICATION:
  • Applications will open approximately 3-4 months prior to APMLE Part 1 (January exam)
  • Recipients will be announced in November/December 2026.

A total of
$20,000 is allocated annually to support the Board Examination Grant program. From each APMSA member school, two students each year will be awarded grants.

  • One student will receive $1,000 to help pay for the APMLE Part I Exam
  • One student will receive $1,000 to help pay for the APMLE Part II Exam

A student may receive the grant only once during podiatry school. If a student receives the grant for Part I, they are not eligible to apply for the Part II grant or for any exam retakes. Grant funds will be issued as reimbursement after proof of exam registration is provided.
